How to make chocolate covered strawberries

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips good quality like Ghirardelli or your preferred brand
  • 1/3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon avocado oil or other neutral oil like canola or vegetable oil
  • 12-16 fresh ripe strawberries

Instructions

  • Wash and dry strawberries.
  • Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Fill small pot with enough water to cover fill pot about one quarter to one third way full, then place heat proof bowl on top of pot to create a double boiler (or use a small double boiler if you have one.) The water in the pot should NOT be touching the bowl— empty some out if it is.
  • Place chocolate chips in the bowl, and turn heat on to medium-low, so it is simmering. Melt chocolate, stirring occasionally. When the chocolate chips are fully melted, add in oil and stir until well blended.
  • Carefully remove from heat and while holding the stem of the strawberry, dip the berries in the chocolate. Try to do a dip and twist motion. Then place dipped strawberries on prepared parchment lined pan.
After all berries are dipped, allow to cool on counter for 30 minutes, then place in refrigerator until ready to eat!
